*Sorry if I intially posted this in the wrong forum. :oops:

Well, the meeting this morning went well. It was more of a "get to know each other" type meeting and figure out what times would work best for future meetings. We were each asked to say a little about ourselves and why we thought we were elected. We discussed plans for Town Hall meetings where the explorers can ask questions and (hopefully) get answers. These would be themed in that certain topics would be discussed only, to help keep the meeting more organized. Most things are still in the planning stages though, and we will keep you appraised of how things are progressing and also make announcements as we get the.

Am Mittwoch, dem 26.4. findet ein Treffen unter dem Titel "Meet the DRC" statt. Eine Gelegenheit, um die DRC-Mitglieder kennenzulernen: wer sie sind, wie sie nach D´ni gekommen sind und mehr.

Die Zeitangabe 10Uhr bis 10.30Uhr Höhlenzeit entspricht 18Uhr bis 18.30Uhr hier in Mitteleuopa bzw. 11Uhr bis 11.30Uhr entsprechen 19Uhr bis 19.30Uhr. So kann sich jeder eine der Gemeinden, die unter Session 1 aufgeführt sind aussuchen, wo dann jeweils das genannte DRC-Mitglied anwesend sein wird.

Bitte zu beachten!

Die Aufnahmekapazität der Gemeinden wird zeitweilig auf 30 Forscher beschränkt werden und 5 Minuten nach dem Start wird die Gemeinde auf "privat" gestellt, um Überfüllung, Verbindungsfehler und Lag auszuschließen. Kommt also bitte zeitig.

Wenn jemand eine Frage hat, kann er dies durch Winken anzeigen. Der DRCL berücksichtigt dies fortlaufend in einer Liste und erteilt in dieser Reihenfolge das Wort.

Änderung des Zeitplanes

Um Treffen zu erleichtern und auch welche Gemeinde Gastgeber ist, haben wir dahingehend geändert, das unsere europäischen Forscher die Morgenmeetings und unsere nordamerikanischen Forscher die Nachmittagsmeetings absichern. Das sollte die Unterschiede in den Zeitzonen etwas besser ausgleichen.

Die italienische (84) und die Uru Obsession (1) - Gemeinde wurden getauscht.

Town Hall Meeting Bericht – 26. April 2006

Insgesamt ist die erste Runde der Town Hall Meetings sehr gut verlaufen. Es gab ein paar Stolperer und Patzer, ein paar kleine Taschen mit Chaos, aber alles was wir daraus gelernt haben, kann nur die nächsten Meetings verbessern.

Alle Meetings waren gut besucht und zumeist waren alle sehr geduldig und respektvoll. Das Thema „Lernt die DRC Mitglieder kennen“ wurde oft fröhlich umtänzelt, aber wenn man bedenkt, wie lange wir alle auf Neuigkeiten gewartet haben, konnte man das erwarten!

Hier sind ein paar Höhepunkte des Tages:

Marie Sutherland ist seit 1993 beim DRC; Victor Laxman seit 1995; Dr. Kodama seit 1994 und Michael Engberg seit 1998. Über ihre ersten Reisen nach D’ni berichtet Dr.Kodama: „Ich habe schon ein paar erstaunliche Orte auf dieser Erde gesehen – es gibt viele – und die Höhle ist eine davon.” Michael Engberg meint: „Eine unterirdische Zivilisation zu finden war ein Höhepunkt in meinem Leben.”, und Victor Laxman sagt: „Die Reise ist, was mich so erstaunt hat, weil ich an jeder Biegung etwas Besseres entdeckt habe. Bis ich dann schließlich in der Höhle angekommen bin und den See und die Stadt das erste Mal gesehen habe. Einfach unglaublich.“

Auf mehreren Meetings kam zur Sprache, dass seit zwei Jahren niemand von Dr. Watson gehört hat. Sharper ist ebenso verschwunden. Über Sharper, Phil, Henderson und Dr. Watson befragt, sagte Kodama (ironisch witzelnd): „Sharper ist vermutlich aufgeregt über den kommenden Einzug. Henderson raucht wahrscheinlich Drogen, und Watson … keiner weiß was. Ich scherze natürlich.“ Wer behauptet, dass Dr. Kodama keinen Humor hat?

Alle DRC Mitglieder haben deutlich gemacht, dass sie mit Hilfe der momentanen Finanzierung tun, was sie können, und solange sie es können. Es gibt keine magischen Besucherzahlen, die die Finanzierung gewährleisten würden, ebenso können sie uns kein festes Datum nennen. Einige der DRC Mitglieder haben betont, dass sie weiterarbeiten würden, bis ihnen jemand sagen würde aufzuhören. Jeder von ihnen hat sein eigenes Lieblingsprojekt und seinen besonderen Aufgabenbereich.

Michael hat die ‘merkwürdigen’ Gebilde in Kahlo untersucht: „Knochenartige Gebilde, aber ein Material fast wie aus Stein… die Strukturen dort scheinen nicht von Menschenhand gemacht, also stellt einen die Arbeit mit ihnen vor einzigartige Probleme. Tatsächlich gibt es (wenn überhaupt) nur sehr wenig von Menschen Geschaffenes in Kahlo. Sonderbarer Ort.” Er erwähnt auch: „Es macht Spaß, Wheely hier unten zu haben. Familie ist mir sehr wichtig.”

Marie hat an Eder Delin gearbeitet und die anderen DRC Mitglieder haben es besucht. Es ist in der Tat eines aus einer Gruppe ähnlicher Eder Zeitalter, die alle nah beieinander gefunden worden sind. Victor sagte: "...tatsächlich ist der Buchrücken dem von Eder Kemo sehr ähnlich. Wir vermuten, dass sie - sozusagen - aus dem gleichen Tuch geschnitten wurden." Es wird als „sehr sicheres“ Zeitalter beschrieben und könnte eines der ersten sein, die wir besuchen können. Dr. Kodama berichtet, dass es keine Pläne gibt, an dem ‘restlichen’ Gebiet von Eder Gira zu arbeiten.

Victor and Dr. Kodama haben an dem Zeitalter namens Rebek gearbeitet. Victor beschreibt es als "Schön und aufregend… ich würde gerne die Historie kennen, die dort stattgefunden hat. Bestimmt eine interessante Geschichte.” Dr. Kodama sagt, Rebek ist sein Lieblingszeitalter, und dass es "Unglaublich” ist, „- sehr vielfältig, schön, und mit soviel darin zu tun.“ Lasst uns hoffen, dass sie bald KI Bilder für uns haben!

Alle beim DRC arbeiten daran, Teile von Ae’gura und dem Stadtzentrum zu restaurieren. Victor berichtet, dass Ae’gura einer der arbeitsintensivsten Bereiche ist, um ihn für die Forscher vorzubereiten. Dr Kodama sagt: "Einige Gebäude sind in besserem Zustand als andere.“ J'Taeri wird als eine Möglichkeit erwähnt, ebenso einige kleinere Gegenden. Als die größten Hindernisse werden Zeit und Ressourcen genannt.

Es gibt auch große Bereiche schwerer Zerstörung im Stadtzentrum; obwohl der DRC es gerne zu seiner einstigen Pracht restaurieren würde, bezeichnet Victor die Aufgabe als „monumental".

Der DRC arbeitet an vorsichtigen Versuchen, den natürlichen Algenbestand im See wiederherzustellen. Diese Licht spendende Pflanze wurde während des Untergangs dezimiert und hat sich offensichtlich nie wieder ganz erholt. Victor erzählt uns: "Wir untersuchen immer noch den Organismus, der das Licht produziert, um sicherzustellen, dass wir ihn nicht beschädigen, während wir zu helfen versuchen. Die beste Vorgehensweise für uns ist, zu sehen, was die D’ni selbst gemacht haben und ihrem Modell zu folgen. Das machen wir in diesem Fall.” Wenn sie Erfolg haben, wird die Höhle viel heller werden verglichen mit ihrer momentanen schattigen Dunkelheit.

Der Große Nullpunkt und die KIs wurden ebenfalls mehrfach erwähnt. Michael hat bei Fragen zu GZ auf Victor verwiesen, indem er sagte: „Was ich will, ist mich nicht zu verlaufen!“ Victor beschreibt GZ als „Einfach eine große Markierung für die D'ni. Ohne ein Bezugssystem, auf das man sich berufen könnte (wie Sterne, Sonne, magnetische Richtungen) haben sie einfach eines erschaffen.“ Zur Kalibrierung von GZ sagt Victor: “Ich bin nicht sicher ob es je kalibriert sein wird. Es wird nur mehr und mehr genau mit jedem Eintrag. An einem bestimmten Punkt erreichen wir einen Zustand abnehmenden Ertrags und wir nennen es gut!“

Erweiterte KI Funktionen könnten in Zukunft eine funktionierende “Marker Spiel” Fähigkeit beinhalten. Es ist – so Victor – sein “Steckenpferd”.

Bezüglich der Fragen zu Sponsoring und Finanzierung hat der DRC keine magische Zahl von benötigten Forschern oder irgendeinen Zeitplan, nach dem die Finanzierung gewährleistet sein könnte. Michael erzählt uns „Unsere Quellen sind sehr eingeschränkt, wir arbeiten auf einer wöchentlichen Grundlage, aber wir sind entschlossen, so viel zu tun wie wir können“, und dass sie wegen der eingeschränkten Finanzierung „Orte ins Auge fassen, welche nicht viel Arbeit benötigen. Diese mögen einfach sein, aber wenigstens können wir sie fertig stellen.“

Zur Anthropologie und zu den ansässigen Kulturen in den Zeitaltern befragt, sagte Marie: “Gelegentlich lernen wir ein bisschen über die Ureinwohner, aber wir haben es nicht so stark ins Auge gefasst. Ich möchte, dass sich das über die Zeit ändert, wenn die Restaurierung wieder voll aufgenommen wird.“ Zur Frage, ob sie während der Erkundungen irgendeinem lebenden D’ni begegnet wären, sagt Dr. Kodama: „Sind wir, und ich erwarte, dass es wieder geschehen wird.“

Bezüglich der Bahro sagt Michael: “Soviel wir auch bisher über die Bahro gelernt haben, haben wir den Eindruck, nichts zu wissen.“ Dr. Kodama erzählt uns: “Ich weiß sehr wenig über sie - aber was ich durchaus weiß, sie könnten sehr wohl – und werden vermutlich auch – auf die eine oder andere Weise die Restaurierung beeinflussen.“

Verschiedene Leute fragten bezüglich der Kunst des Schreibens, Michael berichtete, dass sie einiges darüber gelernt haben, wie es funktionierte, aber dass sie nicht bereit sind, Informationen darüber mitzuteilen, und Dr. Kodama sagte, dass er die Kunst des Schreibens nicht gelernt hat, weil es für ihn soviel anderes zu erforschen gibt.

Ebenso wurde zu den Schürfrechten gefragt (Dr. Kodama sagte, er würde das den Anwälten überlassen); zu neuen Notizbüchern/Journalen (“Zuviel zu übersetzen.” Vielleicht eine Gelegenheit für die Beteiligung von Forschern?); und zur Frage, wo Sharper die Great Tree Jacken versteckt haben könnte. (Professor Askew scheint zu frieren.) Dr. Kodama erwähnte Pento als eines seiner Lieblingszeitalter wegen der Geschichte, die damit in Verbindung gebracht wird, im Zusammenhang mit den Pento Kriegen. Victor erwähnte, er würde gerne mehr von Eder Gira erforschen.

Was die DRC Mitglieder über ihre “Reise” erzählt haben:

Dr. Kodama: "Ich bin nicht sicher, ob es meine Ansicht schwerwiegend beeinflusst. I wollte stets und wünsche noch immer diesen Ort restaurieren.”

Michael: "Nach einigem Widerstand habe ich die Reise angetreten und es hat meine Sichtweise beeinflusst. Ich glaube, ich hatte die Gedanken der D'ni verstanden aber nicht ihr Herz, bis ich die Reise unternommen habe."

Victor: "Ich habe die Reise angenommen und es hat meine Denkweise verändert, nicht zuletzt hat sie mir ein Heimatzeitalter verschafft und eine schnelle Möglichkeit aus schwierigen Situationen herauszukommen. Yeesha sprach von Dingen, die wir alle immer noch versuchen vollständig zu begreifen – aber es scheint mir richtig, dies zu versuchen, anstatt sie zu ignorieren.“

Nach diesen ersten Town Hall Meetings freuen wir uns auf die zukünftigen. Einige der berücksichtigten Themen sind Finanzierungsbemühungen, Ae’gura und das Stadtzentrum, neue Zeitalter und die Kunst des Schreibens, und die Zusammenarbeit mit den Forschern. Haltet ebenfalls Ausschau nach Treffen mit Gästen von Cyan Worlds. Durch ihren langjährigen Kontakt mit dem DRC und ihre kreativen Interpretationen der Geschichte der D’ni sind sie ein wertvoller Teil der Restaurierung.
