ONLY 1 DAY UNTIL TAPESTRY SHARD 2ND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY!
"COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY'

Yep......just one day before this festive and fun celebration....Santa's getting ready to come to D'ni. He should be arriving tomorrow at 2pm EST and Santa's parade will be held around the Tokotah courtyard coming down from the Kings Hall. All nexus links to Ae'gura will be disabled during the parade so not to cause linkin lag to Santa, his Reindeer and his Elves. Everyone is asked to find a place next to the Tokatah building and while the parade is in progress, please sit and not move around, so not to cause lag. The Modificator will be piping in the music for the parade and you will be able to hear it throughout the cavern. When Santa reaches the door to the Tokotah building there will be an introduction of the Reindeer and Santa. Santa will begin a dance, Reindeer and Elves will join in and I will invite everyone to join in the dance.

For anyone who can't make it into Ae'gura after the parade begins...you can go to the hood and view the Santa parade on Webcam. Pali64 has set up 8 camermen throughout the cavern. TCT server will be hosting his Webcam. To view the Webcam go here: http://thecaverntoday.com/index2.php?go=watch There will be two viewers to choose from.....Java Viewer and ActiveX Viewer. Of the two the best one I think is the ActiveX Viewer. If you have Internet Explorer as your primary browser you should have no problem.....just click on ActiveX Viewer. If you have Firefox you'll need to set up and IE Tab. Make sure you have the latest Firefox update 1.5 Once Firefox is updated you can go to: http://ietab.mozdev.org and click on "Get IE Tab 1.0.6. Now". Once it's downloaded close Firefox browser and then open it again. Click on Tools and once the box opens click on IE tab options. Now you can go to The Cavern Today site with the link prodvided above. Just click on ActiveX Viewer and you should be able to view the Webcam. It takes a few seconds to load so have a little patience.

All music and chat will be on TeamSpeak. If you don't have TeamSpeak installed you can get it free here: http://goteamspeak.com Once downloaded....click on Quick Connect and setup a user name and password....type in the shard address: shard.urutapestry.com and select a channel. Modi has set up special channels for the parade. DJ's have set up seperate channels for music. Channels have been set up for chat.

As been said previously the Event Shard has undergone a VAULT WIPE....You will need to set up your avie and get your KI....IMPORTS ARE ENABLED. If you don't have a clean Prime game you can download one here: http://forum.urutapestry.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=294 Once you've installed a clean Prime game open UU and Manually enter eventshard.urutapestry.com in the dropdown box. Make sure you check the box that says Import. This shoud save you the trouble of replaying the cleft and the ages.

Tapestry Shard admins have done a great job of preparing the event shard for the party and have done so much to try to cut down lag and crashes...Alot of lag and crashes are on the clients side.....So try to get your comps ready for the event. Do a defrag and use spybot/adaware and clean up that way. Shut down any unnecessary programs. If you have more than one IM service shut down all but one. If you have Skype, Gizmo or any other type of voice chat (except TeamSpeak)...shut them down too. All of this is stress on your bandwidth and could cause you to crash to desktop. Double your virtual memory also helps. If you don't have enough RAM, someone suggested the possibility of borrowing an extra stick from a friend or family member, if your comp can handle more RAM and you're not able to afford purchacing another stick. If anyone has any more suggestions please help and post them to this thread.

As in all past events (this one included) a terrific team of very dedicated and giving individuls work long and hard to bring things like this about. For this event we have a team of around twenty amazing people who gave up their time, energy and talents to create this event.....I applaud you all and thank you so much. So come on everyone and every shard throughout this great UU and join in the celebration.
