OK, folks, here we go. "Up On the Roof!" is going international!
Up (All Day) On the Roof!
Through the efforts of Zam, Old Man, Oldmanjob, Essjay, Lady Chaos and Ktahdn, this party has been extended to include Europeans. Essjay and helpers will be catering. Music by Ktahdn, and you know what that means: incomprehensible, but fun.
Location: D'mala Shard, Tokotah Rooftop
Backup location: Great Tree Shard, Tokotah Rooftop
Date: Friday, 2006-March-17
Formal start time: 12:00 noon U.S. Pacific, 3:00 PM U.S. Eastern, 9:00 PM Central European
Teamspeak server: gtchat.hopto.org channel is Up On the Roof!
Note that Teamspeak is required, and we'll help you get it if you don't have it.
Here's the schedule:
11:07 AM Pacific, 2:07 PM Eastern, 8:07 Central European: music starts with a playlist designed for earlybirds. There may be no formal host on the shard during this period, but if you wanna dance, feel free. The music is intended for mood-setting. No food available at this time, but you can work up an appetite.
12:00 noon Pacific, 3:00 PM Eastern, 9:00 PM CET: Your hostess, Zam, will be there to help you get into the mood. The music will be the usual Roof! eclectic, with a bias toward dancing. Essjay should have the food set up around this time. Dance your feet off, talk with your friends, run around like you're crazy.
3:00 PM Pacific, 6:00 PM Eastern, 12:00 midnight CET: Zam hands off hosting to Oldmanjob. Party on! Go ahead and tease OMJ. He can take it.
6:00 PM Pacific, 9:00 PM Eastern, 3:00 AM CET: Oldmanjob hands off hosting to Lady Chaos. You know what she's like. Look out! She'll go until she drops, or everyone leaves. Music will run until at least 9:00 PM Pacific.
Getting there: No UserKI is allowed on D'mala, so the only way to get to the Tokotah Rooftop is from the link-stone by the pond in Eder Gira. Play the age yourself, or ask the host or hostess for an invitation to their Gira so you can just walk over to the link-stone. Once you've used this link it will appear in the City book on your Relto shelf, so you won't need to go to Gira again if you crash out.
Anyone who manages to remain standing for the whole period will get special recognition. Especially if you're from Europe. We hope the shard doesn't explode. Back-up plan is to move to Great Tree Shard if D'mala proves to be impossible for some reason.
