We are now looking for volunteer shards to host a preliminary event. If the Reallife Shard feels it has the capacity to host an event please PM RexHavoc at the D'Olympics forum. As this years Event Organizer I will make sure the event is planned to consider the German time zone. I was so happy to see you all participating in the parade and watch the patience all of you displayed. Your enthusiasm was amazing. I hope you will participate in this event with the same zeal....

Ich hoffe ihr werdet euch mit demselben Eifer an diesem Ereignis beteiligen....

Ich have die Einladung, den GoD Shard am Sonntag, den 17. April, 10:30 a.m. EST bis 1:30 ~ 2:30 p.m EST zu testen übersetzt und werde sie gleich in den D'Olymics Thread posten (vgl. Susi's Link). Aber wenn du weitere News posten willst, ist es sicher am besten, wenn du das hier tust, vielen Dank nochmal.

We had a great time today stress testing the Guild of Greeters Shard!

While we were there, some of us were wondering if the GermanRealLife Shard would like to conduct a stress test. There were around 30 to 34 explorers during the test on the GOG shard and we certainly can muster up that many again if you would like to test on the GermanRealLife shard!

As you may know, it has been encouraged that each shard host at least one of the Events. I am sure you would be surprised to find that your shard very likely would be able to do so with a minimum of crashing.

If you decide to do a stress test, please post in the UO or Tapestry or GOG forums and we will come help you!!

Also, there are meetings held twice a month by the D'Olympic Committee and we also encourage you to have a representative at those meetings. The next meeting will be April 30th at 2 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time in the Live Chat Room on the GOG forum. I hope to see some of you there!

Wir hatten viel Spaß beim Belastungstest des Guild of Greeters Shard!

Als wir so zugange waren, haben sich einige von uns gefragt, ob der German Real Life Shard auch so einen Belastungstest durchführen möchte. Es waren circa 30 bis 34 Forscher während des Tests auf dem GoG Shard und wir würden es bestimmt schaffen soviele Besucher zu organisieren, wenn ihr den RL Shard auch testen möchtet!

Wie ihr vielleicht wisst, möchten wir anregen, dass jeder Shard mindestens einen der Events bei sich stattfinden lässt. Ich bin sicher ihr würdet überrascht sein, was der Shard alles so aushält, mit einem Minimum an Rausfliegen.

Wenn ihr so einen Belastungstest starten möchtet, postet das bitte auf den Uru Obsession, Tapestry oder GoG Foren und wir werden Euch dabei helfen!

Ebenso Folgendes: Zweimal im Monat findet ein Treffen des D'Olympischen Kommites statt und wir möchten Euch ermuntern, einen Vertreter dorthinzuschicken.
Das nächste Treffen findet am 30 April, um 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time [--> 20 Uhr MEZ?] statt, und zwar im Live Chat Room auf dem GoG Forum. Ich hoffe, ich sehe einige von euch da!

News from the D’Olympics


This past Saturday 6/4/05, the entrants for the cone balance event were moved to the finals. There were only three athleletes signed up and due to the DOC rules less than four signed up would move to the finals.

The Gira dive event is coming up Saturday 6/18/05 and we the DOC are going to present this competition. At the time of this post we have only four entrants. We need the participation of the community to go forward and present this great venue. Please sign up now, you have almost two weeks to practice and perfect your dives. Am Samstag, den 4. 6. 2005 sind die Athleten des Pylonen-Balancierens direkt ins Finale weitergekommen. Es gab nur drei Sportler, die sich überhaupt angemeldet hatten und gemäß der DOC Regeln kommen Gruppen mit weniger als vier direkt ins Finale.

Der Gira Wasserfall Sprung steht vor der Tür (Samstag, 18.6.2005) und wir vom DOC möchten diese Disziplin nochmal präsentieren. Zu dem Zeitpunkt dieses Posts haben wir erst vier Teilnehmer. Wir brauchen die Mitarbeit der Gemeinschaft um für den Event zu werben. Bitte meldet euch jatzt an, ihr habt fast zwei Wochen zum Üben und Perfektionieren eurer Sprünge. The D’ni Olympics is proud to present Streaming Video http://www.kah-lab.com/dolympics/stream/ for the first time this year, directly from the event site for your viewing pleasure. The first event to be streamed will be the Gira High Dive, Saturday June the 18th at 10:00am EDT, 9:00am CDT and 7:00am PDT. At the time of this post we have eight entrants vying one of four positions available in the finals, deadline to sign-up is Friday the 17th noon PDT. Please watch this exciting venue and support the athletes in their efforts.

The D’ni Olympics are proud to present the second event preliminary to be held in the great city of Ae’gura this season, The 5K City Run. This prestigious event will be held on The Great Tree Shard on Saturday July 16th at 10:00 am EDT, 14:00 GMT.

We ask all participants to report directly to the DOC hood, where your name and team will be noted by the hood coordinator, you will then be taken to the event when it is your turn to run.

Our goal is to run approximately 4 heats to give all athletes a lag free run and to somewhat divide team members so they will all have an equal chance to place.

Please reread the posted event rules, be in uniform and in the hood at least 15 minutes before the event time and goodluck!

We are also looking for a few more bolunteers, if you have any interest please contact Rex Havoc or Natika. Thanks to all of you that have volunteered so far, you have made it an enjoyable experience.

Special thanks to Ashtar, who has unselfishly allowed us the use of his Great Tree shard.

The D’ni Olympic Committee is pleased to announce its next event, “The Relto Island Hop”. This event will be held on the Tapestry shard on July 30th at 10:00 am EDT.

We ask all participants to please go to the DOC hood where you will be warped or sent an invitation to the event relto.

Unfortunately due to the number of people a relto can host, we won’t be able to allow any spectators. Hopefully our streaming video will be working, giving everyone an opportunity to watch.
